Kim is a registered nurse who has largely specialised in community paediatric care and nursing education, and this has strongly informed her health equity approach to research. In 2023 she was involved in a project called Whitia Kia Ora, which developed a culturally aligned model for Bicillin delivery to rangatahi utilising kaupapa Māori and Pacific research approaches. Kim has published in Psychological Medicine (impact factor 7.6) as a contributor to a systematic review about system networks of schizophrenia. Kim currently works at the National Hauora Coalition as a researcher and project manager. Kim is a PhD student at the University of Auckland where she is studying the health geography of Rheumatic Fever school-based clinics.
